We recently lost our lovely Lakeland - Jaime Hope - who passed away suddenly on July 8th 2009. Looking at your site brought a smile to my face.
In reply to Theresa - you need a lot of patience with all puppies and Lakies can be challenging as they are very bright. Be consistent and loving - she will learn and you will have the most marvellous friend to love and be loved by.

I just bought a Lakeland Terrier pup on May 31. Named her Holly. Would love to hear from any Lakeland owners about training them. Holly is very smart but has a mind of her own. She is learning but sometimes drives me nuts! Can't go anywhere without her crying and jumping. Then she gets mad and starts chewing! Got her chew toys but they don't keep her attention when I have to leave the room! Can't get any housework done! She is so lovable but she is testing my nerves!
We are outdoors people but she can't really go anywhere but the yard till she gets the rest of her shots which is next month.
Any advice on raising these kinds of dogs?

Taz looks great. My Lakey (Murdoch) is 5 months and superb! What a character! He's turnin my 13 year old JR inside out!

I am very intersted in your dogs pedigree name as i have recently bought a puppy of my own and with her came information on her past which encludes her family tree. There is a number of dogs on it that also share the Rayfos kennal name(encluding her grandfather)and i see so does your Taz. Do you think they could be related and share the same ancestors? The appearence of my puppy is also rather similar to your Taz so maybe they are related some how.

Hi you dont me but i liked your website and am glad to see some pictures of lakeland terriers at a varity of ages. It has helped me recognise a good lakeland terrier and today i am about to go and choose one of my own. I am hoping for a boy but wil not be ready untill 6 weeks time. ITS SO EXCITING!!
